I found this wonderful video from travelers who took almost the exact Avalon cruise we’re taking December 1–7, 2027.

They traveled in the opposite direction. We’re starting in Nuremberg and sailing the Danube to Vienna. But you’ll get a terrific look at the towns, the Christmas markets, the ship experience, and what seven days along the Danube in December look like.

Over the next week, I’m going to share all three of their videos so you get a much better feel for what we’re going to experience together.

Our route takes us from Nuremberg to Regensburg, Passau, Melk and finally Vienna. We’ll wander Christmas markets, drink Glühwein, explore medieval towns, sail through the Wachau Valley, visit Melk Abbey, eat far too much German and Austrian food, and come home with Christmas ornaments we absolutely did not need. 🎅🏼🍷

And we’re doing all of this aboard the Avalon Impression.

We still have cabins available, including some of Avalon’s Panorama Suites. Those are the rooms with the huge wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows that open to turn your entire room into an open-air balcony.

Your deposit is $500 per person. After that, you have more than a year to make payments toward your trip.
