Steven Skelley’s seven grandkids call him Pawpaw. Now, they—and the rest of us—can hear his life stories through Pawpaw’s Diary 1 and Pawpaw’s Diary 2, two collections of songs about love, loss, gratitude, and finding your way.

The gay grandfather, lifelong naturist, and former Protestant minister says surviving open-heart surgery gave him another reason to record the songs he’s been writing for decades: leaving his experiences, beliefs, and hopes for the people he loves. His music draws on a life that includes coming out, marriage, and finding spiritual peace through naturism.

His motto? “Shed the useless to discover the priceless.” That’s a sentiment we can get behind around here, preferably without a waistband.
