Almost a Year Later... This Was the Right Move
September 24 marks one full year since we changed the way we deliver the GoNaked newsletter.
At the time, I wasn't entirely sure how it was going to work. Like any change, there was a little uncertainty. But now that we're almost a year in, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions we've made.
The thing that hit me recently was this: I can still go back and read the very first post.
Every article, every announcement, every story, every little moment we've shared over the past eleven months is still there, neatly organized and waiting to be revisited. In the old system, news disappeared after a day or two. If you missed it, it was gone. Now we've accidentally built something much better than a newsletter—we've built an archive of our community.
I've noticed something else, too.
By sending you a simple notification—a headline, a sentence or two, and a graphic—you decide what you want to read. The emails are getting opened more often, fewer of them seem to end up in spam folders, and the people who want to dive deeper can do so with a single click.
It feels cleaner. Simpler. More reliable.
Most importantly, it feels like it's working.
So thank you. Thank you for sticking with me through the change, for reading, commenting, sharing, and continuing to make GoNaked a part of your day. It's been a wonderful first year, and I think we're just getting started.
