Jefferson Is Home from The Hospital

I’m writing this Tuesday morning, and as of about an hour ago, we got the news we’ve all been waiting for: the hospital is releasing Jefferson to come home.

He’s been there for almost a week now, and believe me, he has been more than ready to escape. The doctors kept him a couple of extra days because of how delicate the surgery was, just to make absolutely certain there were no complications. In this case, I’m very glad they did.

His wife texted me this morning to let me know that our little monster is finally heading home, and if all goes according to plan, he should be sleeping comfortably in his own bed tonight.

Thank you to everyone who has sent love, good thoughts, prayers, messages, and concern over the past week. It has meant more than you know, and I know Jefferson and his family have felt every bit of that support.

Home is a pretty wonderful word today.
