Sometimes All We Need Is an Ear

when a younger man comes to me with a problem, my first instinct is to jump into “fix-it” mode. I want to offer advice, perspective, a roadmap out of the mess. And when I turn to an older friend, they do the exact same thing. It’s human nature—we mistake care for correction.
