The Phoenix – Rising Again
Many gay men have experienced moments that brought us to our knees—coming out, rejection, loss, discrimination, illness, heartbreak, or starting over.
These experiences can leave us feeling as though we've been burned to ashes.
Yet the Phoenix reminds us that endings are not always endings.
The Phoenix doesn't erase the fire—it rises because of it. The flames become part of its transformation.
Many of us discover extraordinary resilience. We create chosen families. We rediscover joy after heartbreak. We come out later in life. We reinvent careers. We find love after believing it was no longer possible. We learn to trust again. We become mentors. We discover authenticity after decades of performing for acceptance.
Sometimes our greatest strength grows directly from our deepest wounds.
This week's conversation is about honoring those journeys—and celebrating the courage to begin again.
Conversation Prompts
- What was your Phoenix moment?
- What helped you rise again?
- When did you realize you had made it through?
- How did you celebrate your comeback?
No one will ever be asked to share unless they choose to.
Come and be inspired by stories of resilience, hope, and the remarkable ability to begin again.
Sometimes what feels like the end is actually the beginning of who we were always meant to become.
